As
a fee-only financial planning firm, we do not sell financial products of any kind. Because of this we offer solid, objective analysis
and advice not "colored" by sales commissions or other
incentives. Our fees are based strictly on the work we actually
do.
Our
firm is a Licensed Investment Advisor in Arizona, organized as
a regular C Corporation. You may view, download or print our
Arizona Corporation Commission SEC disclosure form, which is

We Specialize in Personal Financial Planning
We use a modular planning process to focus on the most important aspects of your situation first,
and then through continuous monitoring and review steadily work
toward achieving your life goals.
Our
modular financial planning process is designed to "drill"
down into each aspect of your finances and really, your life,
in a way that identifies the most important and most urgent needs
and changes you should consider making in order to get you on
track.
The
major planning modules we use are:
- Cash
Flow
- Net
Worth
- Investment
Management (Asset Allocation)
- College
Planning
- Retirement
Planning
- Estate
Planning
- Risk
Management (Insurance)
- Special
Needs Planning
With
information you provide which consists of your goals, objectives,
present assets and liabilities, income & expenses and any
special needs you have, we use these modules to create a strategy
or plan to get you "ontrack." As part of this
initial work you receive a formal written report which describes
any recommended changes we find and a specific action list.
You Can Complete the Work Yourself or We Can Do it for You
You
decide how to make the changes we recommend. You can do it yourself
or with your permission, we can complete them for you.
These
changes may include:
- Revising
your portfolio management strategy to address asset allocation
or risk issues.
- Creating
an investment policy and portfolio design tailored to your specific
short and long term goals and risk tolerance.
- Changing
401(k) plan investment choices and contributions.
- Changing
insurance deductibles, liability limits or income replacement
levels.
- Modifying
your present estate plan by creating a current will, living trust
or other estate planning document.
In
completing these changes for you, we will work directly with
your attorney, tax preparer, insurance agent or other financial
service professionals, as required.
Ongoing Monitoring Keeps You On Track
Once
your financial plan is implemented it is important to monitor
your progress to keep you "on track." Our annual retainer
work includes:
- 24/7
access to our office for ongoing questions and problem resolution.
- Monthly
monitoring of all investments in your portfolio.
- Ongoing
buy/sell recommendations to maintain your asset allocation targets.
- An
annual annual report that summarizes your progress toward meeting
your goals. This report includes a detailed review of your portfolio's
investment performance for the year and past years, changes to
your financial goals (e.g. retirement or college funding updated
projections), tax planning and management and also addresses
any changes to your situation during the year which may require
changes to your financial management approach. These changes create
questions which typically include:
- Should
I refinance my mortgage?
- Are
Roth IRA conversions right for me?
- How
does my employer retirement plan changes affect me?
- Should
I buy or lease my next car?
We
have no minimum client income or investment requirements. We
do require that clients be firmly committed to the financial
planning process and genuinely need our assistance.
We
use a modular, building block approach to the six
step financial planning process that is comprehensive, yet
tailored to your specific needs. Our services cover the whole
spectrum of financial planning topics including retirement planning,
college funding, estate planning and investment management.
You Decide What You Need
Because
of our modular approach, we can do as much or as little work
as you require. Our fees are project based with a variable rate
depending on the type and complexity of the work we complete
for you. Commonly requested planning activities and their typical
fee ranges are:
- Financial Assessment
- Implementation
- Monitoring (annual
retainer per year) fee:
|
|
- $500-$1,800
- $500-$1,500
- $1,000-$2,500
|
Our
hourly rate for evaluating special circumstances is: $100/hour
We
use a formal Letter of Engagement which describes the work to
be completed and the fee to complete the work in all our client
engagements. The terms are one-half the fee to begin the work
with the balance due when you receive the final report and all
of your questions are answered. The annual retainer Letter of
Engagement is renewed annually, and is billed quarterly in advance.
